Article: Unprecedented Operation of 10 facilities with 100% rating! Roseland, N.J. - The comprehensive standards set forth by the American Correctional Association (ACA) are designed to keep staff and offenders safe and facilities in good working order. ACA accreditation is thus an important benchmark by which the character and operation of a facility can be measured. Last week, Community Education Centers (CEC), Inc. was not only recommended for accreditation at two of the company's New Jersey-based residential treatment centersLogan Hall and Delaney Hall but scored a perfect 100 percent on all mandatory and non-mandatory standards. “I am very proud of these two accomplishments. To have these two facilities receive accreditation in the same week with perfect scores is undeniable proof of the commitment and expertise of CEC staff,” said John Clancy, President and CEO of CEC. CEC now operates ten facilities that are ACA accreditedall of which have received scores of 100 percent on mandatory and non-mandatory standards, a flawless record that is practically unprecedented in the industry. Logan Hall, a 600-bed residential treatment center, and Delaney Hall, a 790-bed residential treatment center, both provide comprehensive residential reentry services to offenders referred from the New Jersey State Parole Board and Essex and Union Counties. These facilities reflect CEC's unique ability to provide rehabilitative and educational services to diverse populations under the same roof. Logan Hall opened in 2001 as the Wynona M. Lipman Education and Training Center, known as Lipman Hall, and served over 200 adolescent males with serious emotional and behavioral problems. These adolescents were referred through state and local child welfare agencies, mental health agencies and juvenile justice systems. The facility then transitioned populations in 2004 and was renamed Toler Hall to serve “halfway back” parolees referred by the New Jersey State Parole Board. “ACA accreditation is a goal which all CEC staff are aware of and strive to obtain everyday,” said Dr. Robert Mackey Chief Operating Officer at CEC. Delaney Hall opened in March of 2000 and provides housing and treatment for 790 male and female residents. The facility provides comprehensive substance abuse treatment services and a wide array of education, life skills, and employment related services designed to meet the needs of each individual offender. Delaney Hall also provides gender-specific treatment services through its 100-bed women's program. This program addresses the unique needs of female offenders, including parenting issues and domestic abuse, as well as reasons for substance abuse. CEC is the leading provider of rehabilitative and reentry services to the criminal justice system in America. CEC's facilities provide a full range of therapeutic residential and non-residential correctional services with an empirically documented record of reducing recidivism.
