New technology could dramatically cut operators' communication costs
 
3 June 2004: Elmo-Tech Ltd., global provider of leading electronic monitoring technologies for the corrections industry, today announces that it has completed the integration of General Packet Radio Service (GPRS) cellular module into its new E3 line of offender tagging systems. The new E3/GPRS would offer significant cost savings on communication expanses, faster reporting of monitoring data to customers and tighter program security. 
 
Elmo-Tech has recently begun testing of the new product, which draws a lot of interest from the company's customers across the world.
 
A preliminary cost analysis undertaken by the company demonstrates potential daily communication cost saving ranging from 30% to 60% over existing monitoring systems.
 
Beyond cost savings, GPRS enabled monitoring devices offer a variety of operational advantages such as line independent information distribution and optional integration of location based services.
