Article:

Los Angeles, California - January 13 2006: Public Communications Services, Inc. the industry leader in providing inmate phone solutions to the Corrections Industry, is pleased to announce that the State of Iowa Department of Corrections (IDOC) and the Iowa Communications Network (ICN) have reinstituted the services of PCS as their inmate telephone service provider. .

PCS began providing inmate telephone services to the IDOC and ICN in 2001, and this contract was later extended through September 2005. PCS' inmate telephone solution for the State of Iowa is highly sophisticated involving multiple database interfaces and is the only known system in the United States that operates as a complete debit calling system only with no collect services whatsoever.

Based on an RFP issued by the ICN  in late 2004 the contract for inmate telephone services was subsequently awarded to another vendor in April 2004 with a scheduled cut over for October 1, 2005.

However this contract was extended with PCS until December 31st,  2005 when the necessary systems integrations failed initial testing. Subsequently the State of Iowa reversed its' earlier decisions, cancelled the new contract award  to  the new vendor , and has again turned to PCS as their singular provider of inmate telephone services to more than 8,000 inmates and their families.

PCS' General Manager of Inmate Sales Steve Cadwell says; "PCS is pleased to continue to serve the State of Iowa Department of Corrections and the Iowa Communications Network as our valued client."
