| Woman Attacks Prison Guard |

STILLWATER — A Circle Pines woman being held in Washington County Jail for violating a restraining order has now been charged with assaulting one of the jail’s correctional officers, according to a criminal complaint. Tracy Florek, 35, was charged with fourth-degree assault of a correctional officer Feb. 19, court documents said. According to the complaint, Florek refused to be transferred to a different holding cell when a jail officer tried to forcibly move her. Florek then grabbed the officer by the hair while squeezing and scratching the officer’s cheek. The officer had to peel Florek’s hand off of her cheek before Florek released her grasp. Florek was in jail at the time of the alleged assault for violating a restraining order that was a condition of her release, according to the Washington County Attorney’s Office. Court records show she was serving a 210-day sentence when the alleged assault occurred. Read More. |
