| Venezuela Prison Riot Kills Six |

At least six prisoners were killed and 42others injured in two different clashes in Venezuela, the authorities said on Monday. Consuelo Cerrada, director of Venezuelan Prison Centers under the Interior and Justice Ministry, said the two clashes took place respectively in Yare I prison and Uribana prison, but "the situation is under the control." Cerrada said such riots were caused by dissensions and personal issues among the prisoners, adding that a similar clash had just happened in El Marite prison on Tuesday. Read More. |
