Inmate indicted in prison murder |

VALDOSTA — A Lowndes County grand jury has indicted a former Valdosta State Prison inmate for the September 2013 stabbing death of a fellow prisoner. Jeffrey Steven Dell, 34, was indicted Tuesday for the murder of Demarquis Cainion, 25, according to a Lowndes County indictment list. Cainion died as the result of a stab wound to his neck on Sept. 16, 2013. He was transported to South Georgia Medical Center but was “code blue” in transit, according to a Georgia Department of Corrections spokesperson at the time. Dell has been indicted on the following charges: malice murder, felony murder, aggravated assault, possession of a knife during the commission of a felony and recidivist. Read More. |
