Stopping Contraband Inside State Prisons |

Columbia, SC (WLTX) - State corrections leaders continue to deal with the problem of contraband. From drones, to packages, to family members, it seems inmates are finding creative ways to get the contraband in, specifically cell phones. And a cell phones in the hand of an inmate is a very dangerous thing. Case in point: five years ago, a prisoner used a cell phone to order a hit on a contraband officer, with the attack happening inside the officer's home. Former Corrections Captain Robert Johnson was targeted for his enforcement of contraband rules at Lee Correctional Institution in Bishopville, SC.
