Law enforcement runs for Special Olympics |

Drivers in Tucson and surrounding areas more than likely caught sight of a long line of runners between May 4 and May 6. Eye-catching no doubt, the spectacle was that of a combination of law enforcement, other agencies and civilians taking part in the annual Law Enforcement Torch Run, a program that helps fundraise and bring awareness to special needs athletes in preparation of the kickoff of this year’s Arizona for Special Olympics Summer Games in Phoenix beginning May 8. The initial leg of the run began with the Nogales Police Department and spanned through Tucson, Pima County, Oro Valley, Marana and into Pinal County before reaching the Phoenix area. Read More. |
