Neb. lawmakers search for solutions to prison reform |

LINCOLN, Neb. —Lawmakers said Nebraska's inmates don't have enough to do. With the Tecumseh State Correctional Institution remaining on lockdown, there's a search for solutions in effect. "The idleness of the inmates was certainly something he believes may have been a factor in what happened this last weekend," Sen. Colby Coash said. State lawmakers passed a budget bill with more money for prison programs. Four days after the riot at the facility in Tecumseh, prison officials said inmates are getting two meals a day, which totals about 3,000 calories. Read More. |
