State Representative Patty Kim held a town hall meeting for ex-offenders on Thursday night at the Hamilton Health Center in Harrisburg. Kim’s goal was to provide ex-offenders with information so will be better equipped to deal with some of the hurdles of trying to get a job with a criminal record. Department of Corrections Acting Secretary John Wetzel says 18 to 20 thousand inmates are released every year; 59 percent are either arrested or back in the system within 3 years. Read More. |
