MDOC: Sex offenders off county jail support |

JACKSON, MIss. (WTVA) -- Sex offenders will no longer be allowed to serve as support workers in approved county jails. The Mississippi Department of Corrections announced the change over the weekend. Commissioner Marshall Fisher ordered a review of the placement program after learning a man serving time for fondling a child under 16-years-old was allowed to attend a birthday party at his home. The inmate is currently serving the remainder of his sentence at the Mississippi State Penitentiary in Parchman. Read More. |
