CONCORD — Flats of flowers, vegetables and herbs are displayed on tables behind the New Hampshire Correctional Industries building at 312 N. State St., as part of the annual four-day sale that runs from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. through Thursday. Inside two greenhouses are more flowers and vegetables, including hanging baskets of tomatoes, ideal for back yards where deer visit and like to snack on prized tomatoes. Farm Manager Chris Lounsbury said the plants are all started from seed and nurtured in two greenhouses. Anything that doesn’t get sold during the plant sale to the public will go into the gardens that are maintained on the property to help feed inmates at the prison down the road. Read More. |
