| Macomb County Sheriff's Office recognizes efforts |

When emergency personnel arrived at the Brittany Park apartment complex in Harrison Township on Jan. 5, 2015, they found the building engulfed in smoke and flames. Several residents fled the burning building into sub-zero temperatures. Others were trapped on upper floors, screaming for help. Among the first arrivals were six deputies from the Macomb County Sheriff's Office: Danielle Wyszczelski, Thaddeus Labaz, Nicholas Cieslak, Charles Osos, Justin Barbeula and Kevin Lagerquist. As firefighters entered the building from the ground floor, several deputies grabbed extension ladders from the fire trucks and launched operations to rescue the trapped tenants. Read More. |
