New Ramsey County Community Corrections Director |

John A. Klavins has been selected as Ramsey County’s director of community corrections by the Corrections Management Committee, which consists of three Ramsey County commissioners and three district court judges. Klavins has nearly three decades of experience in community corrections. He has served as the director of court services at Carver County since 2003. Prior to that, he worked as a supervisor, program manager and probation officer in Washington County and began his career at Ramsey County Community Corrections as an aide in 1986. Klavins is an adjunct professor at Minnesota State University, Mankato, where he has taught corrections to undergraduate and graduate students since 2004. “Mr. Klavins’s impressive credentials make him the right person to lead Ramsey County Community Corrections at this pivotal time,” said Ramsey County board chair and committee member Jim McDonough. “His blend and depth of experience in corrections, county government and academia will serve the department very well from professional and community perspectives.” Read More. |
