Fulton deputies say goodbye to retired K-9 officer, department's first explosives search dog |

ROSWELL, Georgia — Atlanta K-9 teams gathered in Roswell to say emotional goodbyes to a beloved member of the Fulton County Sheriff's Office. Multiple news outlets report Mokey, a retired K-9, was put to rest at 11 a.m. Thursday. His handler, Sgt. Krik Markham, says the black Labrador retriever suffered from arthritis and other ailments for the past year, and his condition had recently deteriorated. Markham, who was Mokey's partner for seven years and cared for him after the pair retired in 2011, was with him in the dog's final moments. Read More. |
