Investigation of prison takeover may be finished by end of week |

A formal review of the inmate takeover at Tecumseh State Correctional Institution on Mother's Day may be completed and a report given to Corrections Director Scott Frakes by the end of this week. The uprising left two inmates dead at the hands of rioters and three inmates injured, at least two by prison staff. It also caused extensive damage to at least one housing unit. Shon Collins and Donald Peacock, both 46 and doing time on sexual assault charges, died of blunt force head injuries, according to death certificates obtained by the Journal Star. Deputy Johnson County Attorney Rick Smith said on the documents that the men were hit with an object but didn't say what.
