Most power at Limestone prison restored |

HARVEST — Most of the electricity to the Limestone Correctional Facility was restored by 4:30 p.m. Friday after the state prison was without power for three days, said Steve Brown, chief of staff for the Department of Corrections in Montgomery. As of today, generators continued to power the kitchen, Brown said. Electricity is expected to be fully restored by Tuesday. “We are expecting some parts to come in by morning,” he said. The dorms, where the maximum-security prison’s nearly 2,100 inmates reside, had power restored on Friday. The prison is not air-conditioned, but uses a built-in fan system for cooling. Read More. |
