| Carbondale man facing more charges after attempted escape from courthouse |

JACKSON COUNTY, IL (KFVS) - A Carbondale, Illinois man was caught after he tried to escape from the Jackson County courthouse. Charles D. Thomas, 22, was charged with escape from a peace officer, aggravated battery and criminal damage to government property. According to the Murphysboro Police Department, on June 22 at about 10:35 a.m., they overheard radio traffic from the Jackson County Sheriff's Office court security of a suspect running from the Jackson County courthouse.
