Suspect turns gun on himself after shooting officer during pursuit, hours-long standoff |

TULSA - A Tulsa police officer was shot Sunday afternoon and the suspect is dead after a pursuit and hours-long standoff. Corporal Gene Watkins, a member of the Fugitive Warrants Squad, was shot in the upper right leg during a pursuit. Officers were serving a warrant for domestic violence involving strangulation. The suspect, 35-year-old Jeremie Kelly, was spotted in a vehicle near Warehouse Market on North Sheridan around 3:45 p.m. Police say Kelly's vehicle led them on a chase through the area until he jumped from the car and fled on foot.
