Joe Garcia named director of Douglas County Community Corrections |

Joe Garcia has been appointed director of Douglas County Community Corrections. Garcia was named to the position on Dec. 1 by the director of the Oregon Department of Corrections. Garcia spent the past two years as the supervisor for Douglas County Community Corrections. Prior to his roles with the Department of Corrections, Garcia spent 13 years with the Douglas County Circuit Court and four years working with the Washington County Juvenile Department. As the local director, Garcia will be responsible for managing a department that consists of four office with four support staff and 16 parole and probation officers who provide supervision for approximately 1,400 offenders with a biennial budget of $10.8 million. Garcia was born in Torrance, California, but was raised in Roseburg, graduating from Roseburg High School in 1993, according to a release. Read More. |
