New warden named for state prison |

CONCORD — A 36-year veteran of the criminal justice system from Ohio has been selected as the new warden of the New Hampshire State Prison for Men in Concord. New Hampshire Department of Corrections Commissioner William L. Wrenn announced Wednesday that the appointment of Michael A. Zenk of Ohio was confirmed by Gov. Maggie Hassan and the members of the state’s Executive Council. Zenk was chosen following a nationwide search, said Jeff Lyons, public information officer for the New Hampshire Department of Corrections. Since 2012 Zenk has served as the deputy court administrator of the Toledo, Ohio, Municipal Court. Prior to that he worked as superintendent of the New Castle, Ind., Correctional Facility and warden of the Moshannon Valley Correctional Center in Philipsburg, Penn. From 1986 until 2007 he held leadership positions in the U.S. Bureau of Prisons including warden of the U.S. Penitentiary in Atlanta, warden of the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, N.Y., and warden of the Federal Correctional Institution of Allenwood, Pa.
