Governor, GOP leaders trade barbs over DOC investigation |

SEATTLE — Washington’s Democratic governor and Republican lawmakers squared off over the ongoing investigation into the early release of 3,200 dangerous felons from state prisons. At the capitol building in Olympia Thursday morning, Governor Inslee said he wants the same thing Republican leaders want: quick answers to how a computer problem at the Washington State Department of Corrections mistakenly led to the early release of 3,200 felons since 2002. GOP legislators believe the governor and the DOC are intentionally keeping legislators out of the loop. “We’ve asked for information that we have not received from the DOC and from investigators,” Senator Mike Padden of Spokane told reporters. “These investigators are hired by the governor.” Read More. |
