8 inmates indicted over contraband |

MOULTRIE — A crackdown on inmates at both Colquitt County Jail and Colquitt County Correctional Institution has increased prosecutions for those possessing contraband, with a number of indictments to show from that effort. Among a lengthy list of indictments handed down this week by a Grand Jury, eight involved inmates accused of having drugs, tobacco or phones while incarcerated at one of those facilities. Those indictments come less than three months after federal and state law enforcement turned out Autry State Prison and arrested more than 50 former and current inmates and employees on felony charges for similar activities.
