LOUISVILLE (WHAS11) – A Louisville Metro Department of Corrections trustee that was assigned to a kitchen work detail escaped from custody on Wednesday, June 9. The escapee, 37-year-old Smith Edward Vance, Jr. left on foot from an exterior trash dumpster site, Steve Durham, Metro Corrections assistant director, said. Vance was originally admitted to custody April 22 on charges of theft and possession of drug paraphernalia.Metro Corrections officials obtained a warrant for his arrest. Read More. |
