I suppose I'll have to learn to enjoy the rid downward won't I? February 21, 2010 8:54:00 PM EST Gee said... I don't know why you guys are making such a big deal of this. The guy (Assanova) is just telling you basically to clean yourselves up, look at least decent, and just go chat to girls. While admittedly, there is something going on underneath this, more pertinently relaxation and assumption of a sexual nature, the rest of the post is spot on. February 21, 2010 11:46:00 PM EST Anonymous said... dude thanks for posts like these. I am already at the point of having lots of attractive (sometimes extremely hot) women giving me eye contact (multiple glances) or staring at me or whatever, though I lack experience and a clue on how to best approach them (or what to do when they approach me) Most other blogs seem to target completely unattractive, ugly or plain guys. Back in the day when you still had your photo up on the blog, I realized we had just about the same skin complexion, so your color scheme should work for me as well. Since the New Year my focus has been on elevating my style. Right now I regularly wear khakis, loafers, and a polo shirt during the day. the look worked in college; but 2 years later, not so much. At night in the clubs, it's a navy blazer, button down, jeans, and penny loafers. I've been reading tons of fashion articles (Askmen's Style Bible, Askandy, The Sartorialist, Style Forum, GQ, Urban gentleman, etc), but I'm still a bit unclear when it comes to choosing the right color scheme. In all the articles I've read where they mention finding the right color for dark complexions, the suggestions have been (gray, pink, light/baby blue, white, tan). So last week I went out, bought some fabric and had some slim-fit button up shirts made in (pink, white, and light blue). Since it's relatively cheap to get clothing tailor made, I'm planning on getting several more shirts made, and a couple jeans if I can find some quality denim fabric. Before I further commit to this I was hoping you could give me some advice on what other colors worked really well for you. In your post "Appearances are everything" you mentioned that you stick to black, and bright colors. I'm going for the blazer and button up look, so I just need to shore it up with the colors. I remember my best night at the clubs here in China was when I got approached by 3 different sets of girls, while wearing a yellow Ralph Lauren button down shirt. In terms of bright colors what have you found to work in your experience. Thanks again for your help. |
