Thats too easy, ask that 'Sheriff' in Arizona about his 'Tent-City' and other great idea's. I bet you he knows about saving money and reducing energy costs. I wish he was running the entire Jail & Prison System in the entire country. I wonder how it would work out. P.S. KEEP UP THE SILLY QUESTIONS, OR MAYBE START TAKING US FOLKS SERIOUS THAT ARE GIVING YOU GOOD IDEAS AND START LISTENING. How about that Wake Up Call......

We turn down our thermostat and change the furnace filter once every 3 months. And we turn off all the lights when we leave a room.

for one to cut energy cost, the inmates should not i mean SHOULD NOT be allowed to have their TVs or light on all nite>>>>LET ME RUN THAT INSTITUTION, AND ALL TVs will be off>>>while, they are sleeping>>>and if they are not in their cells, no tv or radio, should be left on!!!

hey i was wondering do u know approx. how much your institution has saved by changing the filters and by turning the lights out after leaving a room>>>>>

enery cut backs are a need not only in this one partuicular place cut back on energy by cuting off inmate television time each for so many hours this is wnhat i am having to do when i am home. it has saved me from 5 to 8 dollars weekly count it up you do the math for a facility and inmate count .

Indiana has initiated a comprehensive program to supplement steam production using biomass corn boilers. This is a major step! Immediate savings can be realized by things as simple as replacing old style magnetic light ballasts with electronic ones..using much more energy efficient flourescent tubes....how about wrapping steam lines...putting in more efficient shower heads and push button controls..these are just a few of the basics that realize immediate savings with low initial savings..insulating steam pipe can repay the investment in as little as three months!!everything after that is true realized savings...just some food for thought..Kevin Orme, Director of Construction, IDOC

Yes i have the numbers for you-due to turning off the lights and changing the furnace filters we have pared off about 4 billions dollars from our budget-now we have extra for donuts.
