| Description: | We are hiring for a Counselor III position. This position will be for our High Risk Offender Program within the Souza-Baranowski Correctional Center, a male correctional institution. Location: Shirley, MA - Souza-Baranowski Correctional Center Pay rate: $22.71/per hour ($47,250 annually). Salary differential is available to those who are fluent in the Spanish language. Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours. Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-4:00 PM. Possible night shifts of 12:00 PM-8:00 PM may be required to meet program needs. The ideal candidate for the (Counselor III – High Risk Offender Program) position: Should have experience working with high-risk offenders in a disciplinary segregation environment both individually and in a group setting. Possesses strong assessment, interpersonal and counseling skills. Provides individual counseling according to timeframes established per program and documents sessions. Will formulate and identify individual treatment goals/plans for inmates. Facilitates engaging cognitive behavioral, social, problem-solving, and coping skills group sessions as defined by curriculum. Provides case management and coordination of services, as needed, to support the continuing aftercare of inmates in the program. Maintains very strong boundaries while also establishing good rapport and respect with inmates. Is able to work professionally with Department of Correction (DOC Security) and Administration. Must follow strict security protocols. Qualifications: At least two years of experience in corrections and familiarity with the principles and practices in adult male correctional institutions. Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree preferred, preferably in psychology. Experience diagnosing and treating personality disorders highly preferred. Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
