| Description: | The Firefighter/EMT shall be assigned to the Village of Loving Station on a 40-hour work schedule to provide response to the Village and surrounding County areas’ for emergency response. This position will be responsible for vehicle checks, equipment checks, hydrant inspections, reports, cleaning facility, and other duties as assigned by the supervisor. The firefighter will be required to complete assigned training and assist volunteers with training needs in coordination with Supervisor and/or Training Division Chief. This position shall be self-motivated and able to work well with Volunteer’s as this position will supplement volunteer response in the Village of Loving and unincorporated Eddy County. This position shall be well diverse in fire and EMS, also willing to advance skills through additional training to better serve the community. All applicants will be required to complete an entrance exam (must pass with a 70%), also pass a combat challenge (within 8 minutes), and complete oral interviews, these scores will be combined to evaluate all candidates. All successful applicants will be place on a 6-month hiring list following the selection for the position. This position will be expected to complete any and all duties as assigned by the Supervisor, Fire Chief or designee. |
