| Description: | BRIEF DESCRIPTION: The Captain of Training/Health and Safety shall be sworn firefighting position. Upon acceptance of this position the selected applicant shall be required to pass an NFPA 1583 physical and will be required to pass this physical annually along with passing the required annual physical assessments. This position shall be a 40 hour a week position assigned to the Training Division. This position shall be primarily responsible for maintaining the training ground and all related facilities. This position shall be responsible for instructing all levels of fire, EMS, and other required training as directed by the Battalion Chief of Training/Health and Safety. This position shall be responsible for coordinating with the Health and Wellness committee to assure all members stay physically fit, complete annual fitness assessments, coordinate applicant testing, assist with scheduling, documentation, and any other duties as assigned by the Fire Chief or designee. |
