Description: Responsible for services directed toward therapeutic needs and rehabilitation of adolescents. Contributes to clinical and facility-wide projects, policy development and implementation. TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: Although it is not possible to provide an exhaustive list of all types of duties, responsibilities and performance standards, the following are the essential job functions: 1.Assures quality and continuity of clinical services for assigned cases. 2.Provide individual, group and family therapy to assigned caseload. 3.Responsible for the clinical operations of assigned cases to include treatment planning, counseling sessions, treatment milieu, therapy group, and proper documentation and record keeping. 4.Participates in Comprehensive Treatment Planning, Treatment Plan Updates and Discharge Planning meetings. 5.Conducts Case Consultation meetings; participates in conferences for the discussion of behavior, diagnosis and progress of clients. 6.Serves as liaison with external contacts such as probation officers, case workers, and family members. 7.Assures compliance with applicable licensing, regulatory, and monitoring agencies. 8.Conducts in-service training as requested by the Clinical Director. 9.Coordinates the aftercare component for discharged residents. 10.Assures that client files are maintained to standards. 11.Performs other duties as assigned. 12.Complete in-service training to meet the requirements for continued personal and professional self-development. 13.Participate in staff meetings by sharing observations and recommendations regarding the administrative office, facilities and staff relations to identify and resolve problems and function as a unified team. 14.Maintain confidentiality obtained through job duties regarding employees, vendors, residents, outside agencies, etc., so that sensitive information is only given on a "need to know" basis. 15.Comply with Cornell Corrections' policies and work rules as described in the company Employee Handbook, and respond positively to directives from managers and supervisors in a cooperative spirit to ensure conformance to company standards. 16.Adhere to Cornell Corrections' attendance policy; work overtime as required, to ensure deadlines are met. 17.Comply with company safety rules; take appropriate corrective action to ensure work is performed in a safe manner and without injury to self or others. 18.Communicate effectively with all levels of staff in a manner that promotes a team spirit and a sense of cooperation. EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE: MA/MS in psychology, social work, counseling, or other related field plus a minimum of two (2) years clinical experience. Must be licensed as an LCSW, LMFT or LPC. KNOWLEDGE: Knowledge of standards of care; dysfunctional behavior; the juvenile justice system, family, group, and individualized counseling techniques. SKILLS / ABILITIES: Communicate effectively in oral and written form; make decisions in stressful situations; assess individual, family, and group needs. Able to deal effectively and therapeutically with dysfunctional behavior; assess clinical needs and implement clinical treatment programs. PHYSICAL LIMITATIONS: Must be able to visually observe adolescents and staff; hear, understand, and interpret adolescent behavior; detect odors through sense of smell for such things as marijuana and alcohol. Adolescents may become violent at times, requiring quick, reflexive responses. JOB REQUIREMENTS: 1.Must be at least 21 years of age. 2.Valid driver's license and insurance for state in which facility is located. 3.Must pass background check and drug test.
