Description: City/Location Federal Way State WA Point of Hire Seattle, WA Company DSS - Doyon Security Services Reports To Director of Operations Starting Pay DOE Type of Position Regular Full-Time FLSA Status Exempt Schedule Monday - Friday Description Hours 8:00 am – 5:00 pm Duties Require a Flexible Work Schedule and Weekend Work Job Summary: Deputy Director of Operations (DDO) reports to the Doyon Security Services (DSS) Director of Operations and has second line management responsibility and authority for DSS operations. The DDO is primarily responsible for contract, budget and expenditure oversight and tracking. Responsible for ensuring that field offices plan and schedule their personnel and resources responsibly within the terms of their contracts, statements of work and task orders. The DDO assists with security surveys, assessment and inspections. The DDO develops work plans, policy and procedures and is responsible for headquarters asset and personnel protection. The ideal candidate will be able to leverage existing contacts and in the federal government contract security service market to rapidly grow this business. Essential Functions: •This position is responsible for DSS participation in contractual and technical management from proposal development perspective. •Responsible for DSS contract administration; including managing resources, schedules, budgets, financial reporting, and ensuring the technical quality of project deliverables. •Responsible for managing customer relationships, identifying and developing business opportunities, and leading a multi-disciplinary team. •Responsible to leverage current client relationships and obtain new contacts. •Works closely with the Director of Operations and field managers, in cooperation with other DGG managers and offices, to develop and implement business strategies, set annual budgets and position and prepare for bidding opportunities, to meet stated business goals. •Leverage existing contacts in the federal government contract security service market to rapidly grow DGG and DSS business. •Supervise DSS Federal Way office employees. •Other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: •History of making appropriate, prudent recommendations relevant to verification and implementation of policy and procedure, devising employment terms, compensation factors, developing budgets, labor regulations and labor contract terms. •Must have successful current client relationships throughout the military and federal government to grow the business throughout the country. •Must demonstrate the ability to attract and retain clients in the area, build backlog, revenue, profit, direct labor and ROI over time. •Must have demonstrated the ability to develop security related proposals and work plans, work with estimators to prepare bids including cost and schedule input, and then to successfully implement the work plans. •Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills. •Strong presentation skills to include written and oral skills. •Ability to develop technical proposals. •Experience with quality assurance and compliance program development, planning and inspections. •Demonstrate a passion to work for a company that values leadership, empowerment, flexibility, and an entrepreneurial spirit. •Must have the ability to multi-task while managing a heavy workload both from the office and while on travel. •Working experience on Microsoft Office, including web-based information collection skills. In depth knowledge of Microsoft excel is highly desirable. •Ability to work and collaborate with employees at all levels and with different, unrelated disciplines. Qualifications: •Ten to fifteen years of United States military or law enforcement experience at a command level with increasing responsibility and authority is required. •Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a major field of study which provides substantial knowledge useful in managing complex projects. •Experience managing projects and developing government business, with recent contacts in the military, security, intelligence or law enforcement arenas. •High-end consulting experience in more than one area of expertise is desirable. •Experience in assessment and analyses of wage and salary reports, quality control, training and/or testing systems is required. •Experience in proposal development (technical and cost) and successful delivery to government clients. •Prior possession of a federal security clearance at the secret level is required. Working Environment: The majority of the work is performed in a professional office setting with a wide variety of people with differing functions, personalities and abilities. The DDO’s is responsible for field locations dispersed throughout all of the time zones of the United States, including Alaska and Hawaii; this dispersion this requires working a flexible schedule, to best cover all field locations. The position requires occasional weekend work and short notice travel of two days to three weeks duration. Physical Demands: The DDO will be required to work the majority of hours in a general office environment and will need to be able to quickly respond to a change in work demands. Occasional light lifting (25-75 lbs) is required. DDO will be expected to travel to and work in extreme weather conditions from arctic to desert conditions.
