Medical Director - Correctional Medical Services Annual Salary: $115,294 to $184,745 (Appointment in the range dependent upon experience and qualifications) Please apply immediately (recruitment may close at any time). Orange County, known for its beautiful beaches, numerous recreational amenities, and wide array of cultural venues, is seeking a Medical Director for Correctional Medical Services. Correctional Medical Services is a major service area of the Health Care Agency and provides 24/7 health care to individuals held at five adult County correctional institutions, and the Medical Director is responsible for the medical oversight of the adult jail facilities, as well as Juvenile Hall services and Orangewood Children’s Home (a protective custody facility for minors). The ideal Medical Director candidate will be a talented physician who possesses solid administrative and management skills. Key attributes for this position include the ability to develop and articulate a vision for the delivery of care, provide leadership to the program, seek best practices, and develop and implement solutions to improve efficiencies, policies and procedures. Required qualifications include five (5) years of increasingly responsible experience as a physician and possession of a valid Physician’s and Surgeon’s certificate issued by the Board of Medical Examiners of the State of California or the Board of Osteopathic Examiners of the State of California. Selected candidate must pass an extensive background check administered by the Orange County Sheriff’s Department. A detailed brochure is available.
