Description: HEALTH SERVICES ARIZONA STATE PRISON COMPLEX - TUCSON TUCSON, ARIZONA POSITION #: ADC00D658AHO UNCOVERED POSITION: THIS POSITION IS NOT SUBJECT TO THE PROVISIONS OF THE PERSONNEL RULES OF ARIZONA STATE SERVICE. This position will be responsible for assisting the Charge Pharmacist in the operation of their duties; operating a licensed Correctional Pharmacy; providing pharmacy services such as screening, filling, and checking of prescriptions; ordering drugs and controlling inventory; interpreting prescription information; and performing other duties appropriate to the assignment. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSAs): KNOWLEDGE: Of principles of specialized science directly applicable to pharmacy such as pharmacology and toxicology; state and federal laws and rules regarding regulation of pharmacy practices; special instruments and techniques used in compounding and manufacturing pharmaceuticals; chemical, biological, and comparative therapeutic properties of a wide range of drugs. SKILL: In maintaining accurate records; compounding and manufacturing drugs with absolute accuracy; written and verbal communication; personal computer operation and using associated software. ABILITY: To work in a prison environment; learn the Agency personnel rules and regulations; adhere strictly to special security procedures in the safeguarding and control of narcotics and alcoholic drugs. SPECIAL SELECTION FACTOR: Must possess a license to practice as a Pharmacist in the State of Arizona. Applicant must provide license number on resume and a copy of license at time of interview. PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENT: Employment is contingent on the successful applicant passing a background investigation and a pre-employment drug test. RETIREMENT: Positions in this classification participate in the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS).
