| Description: | ~ Job Posting ~ Recreation Therapist Secure residential behavioral health facility located in central Illinois The Illinois Department of Human Services Treatment & Detention Facility provides a wide array of behavioral health services to over 300 adult sexual offenders. This state-of-the-art secure residential treatment facility is located in Rushville, Illinois. Rushville is situated in west central Illinois - within commuting distance of Macomb, Quincy and Springfield, Illinois’ State Capital. The facility has outstanding indoor and outdoor activity space and recreation facilities. Clinical services at the Facility are provided on a contractual basis by Liberty Healthcare’s experienced multidisciplinary team of over forty psychologists, social workers, counselors, psychiatrists, and recreation therapists. Therapeutic Recreation is an essential part of our services. Liberty Healthcare employs six full-time Recreation Therapists and Activity Leaders who continually assess the needs of the residents, as well as develop and implement therapeutic programs to assist our residents attain physical, mental, spiritual and psychosocial well being. Our Recreation Therapists co-facilitate therapeutic groups, as well as organize and lead participation-oriented activities for our residents. Liberty is actively hiring for a full-time staff Recreation Therapist position. A degree in Therapeutic Recreation and CTRS is preferred, however candidates who have experience in a psychiatric, behavioral health or correctional setting administering therapeutic groups and leading participation-oriented activities will be considered as well.
