Special Information: Are you a licensed addiction counselor looking for an exciting challenge working with Montana's youth? Then this position is for you.

This position oversees treatment programs, activities, and personnel at the RiversideYouth Correctional Facility.This position develops, implements, and modifies multiple treatment programs to rehabilitate adjudicated adolescent females, meet facility population and security needs and promote successful public relations outcomes for the Riverside Youth Correctional Facility.

Duties:
  • Clinical Program Management – manages multiple treatment programs, including chemical dependency, mental health, case management, anger management, sex offender, and aftercare programs to provide secure rehabilitation opportunities for adjudicated adolescent females.
  • Routinely evaluates programs and certifies they conform to laws, regulations, licensing requirements, successful corrections practices and the agency mission.
  • Researches, develops, implements, and evaluates new treatment programs, including efforts to treat violent youth and sex offenders.
  • Modifies new treatment programs to meet agency and facility goals and achieve a successful balance between the need to maintain security and satisfy public perception and the need to provide essential rehabilitative treatment.


  • Training Responsibilities – coordinates and delivers essential staff training, including mental health, adjudicated adolescent females manipulation, and intervention training.
  • Serves as facility's licensed addiction counselor and provides opportunities for staff to obtain counseling or social work licensing.


  • Administrative Functions – supervises staff, coordinates work and training schedules, and directs personnel processes, including administering performance appraisals and responding to discipline issues and grievances.
  • Participates in facility policy reviews and serves on committee responsible for assessing youth progress and appropriateness for release.

Education/Experience:
Applicants must provide copies of education transcripts or certificates, proof of successful completion of one of the following education programs:
  1. A baccalaureate degree in alcohol and drug studies, psychology, social work, counseling or other behavioral sciences field from an accredited college or university preferred.
  2. .An associate of arts or applied science degree in alcohol and drug studies, chemical dependency counselor or substance abuse from an accredited college or university with core Chemical Dependency courses completed.

Licensure:
It is the responsibility of the applicant to comply with and remain in good standing with the Montana Department of Labor and Industry Professional Occupational Licensing Board in regards to Addiction Licensure and Code of Ethics.
