Description: | PLEASE APPLY ONLINE AT: http://agency.governmentjobs.com/alachua/default.cfm This is responsible managerial and supervisory work directing the activities of the Alachua County Department of Community Services, Office of Victim Services. An employee assigned to this classification is responsible for the activities, operation and functions of the office. Duties include staff supervision, planning and coordination. Work is performed under the direction of the Community Services Director and is reviewed through conferences, reports, observations, and results obtained. Examples of Duties: ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Directs the activities of the Office of Victim Services, ensuring that effective and efficient rape and crime victim services and advocacy are provided. Supervises and coordinates the activities of subordinate employees including determining work procedures and schedules; issuing instructions and assigning duties; reviewing work; recommending personnel actions; conducting performance reviews; and conducting departmental training and orientation. Seeks and administers outside funding including VOCA funds available through the State Bureau of Crime Compensation. Administers and adheres to program grant requirements. Prepares program budget requests and projections and supervises expenditures. Compiles quarterly statistical reports. Establishes and maintains liaison with other victim service providers. Reviews federal, state and local laws, rules, and regulations as they apply to victim rights. Maintains programs visibility through community involvement and coordination of local victim related issues. Performs related work as required. Bachelor's degree in counseling, social work or a related social services academic program and three years of related professional level experience including one year of related supervisory experience; or any equivalent combination of related training and experience. Experience working in Victim Advocacy Programs, writing and managing grants, working with grant funding/budgets, working with victims of sexual violence, working with Criminal Justices systems desirable. |
