Job Description:
The Behavioral Services Unit is seeking a qualified Therapist Supervisor to coordinate and provide professional psychological services to juvenile offenders at Beaumont Juvenile Correctional Center and to provide clinical/administrative supervision to subordinate treatment providers.

Duties of this position include providing evidence-based mental health treatment and psychological evaluation services to residents, as well as coordinating the delivery of treatment services in one or more of the areas of general mental health, sex offender, substance abuse, and/or aggression management. The desired candidate will be responsible for coordinating treatment services to ensure optimal delivery of assessment and treatment procedures as well as ensuring that clinical practices and documentation, as delivered by subordinate treatment providers, meet departmental and professional standards. Additional duties include documentation of treatment plans, treatment progress, risk assessments, and serving as a member of various institutional and departmental committees and work groups. The selected candidate will also provide on-call emergency services on a rotating basis and perform other duties as assigned by the Treatment Director.

Minimum Qualifications:
Considerable knowledge of theory and evidence-based practices for the treatment of adolescents with co-occurring mental disorders and criminogenic risk factors, knowledge of developmental psychopathology, and knowledge of interventions to reduce risk factors and enhance protective factors. Demonstrated ability to provide both clinical and administrative supervision to clinical staff, the ability to assess the interaction between mental disorders and criminogenic risk factors; the ability to develop competencies in mental health staff to ensure use of best practices; and the ability to coordinate service delivery in the areas of mental health, substance abuse, sex offender and/or aggression management services. Skills are required in in individual, group and family psychotherapies. Ability to function effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team which includes community partners in order to facilitate juveniles’ successful transition back to the community. Effective oral and written communication skills and the ability to function independently.

Preferred Qualifications:
Advanced degree in social work, counseling, psychology or related field; licensure as a mental health professional by the Department of Health Professions; clinical experience treating adolescents within a residential setting. Clinical and administrative supervision experience is preferred. Certification as a sex offender treatment provider is preferred.

Sign-on Bonus:
$1,000 Sign-On Bonus - $500 at 6 months and $500 at 1 year. Tenure agreement required for sign-on bonus and requires satisfactory performance.
