Description: The Escambia County Assistant County Administrator is an executive position requiring an ethical leader skilled in administration and supervision of County Departments. The Assistant County Administrator provides administrative direction to Department Directors in implementing Board policies and directives. Provides guidance regarding policy and procedure developments across County Departments. Performs ongoing evaluation and improvement of service delivery systems, researches for innovative systems and techniques by which to better serve the citizens of Escambia County. Advises the County Administrator on the activities and needs of the various departments. Represents the Board and County Administrator; presents issues, projects, proposals, and recommendations for Board action. Performs related work as required.

An employee assigned to this classification is responsible for administration and management of intergovernmental affairs; serving as an ombudsman; leading legislative and community efforts; developing and implementing county-wide policies and procedures; directing assigned departments and offices; evaluating and coordinating existing programs and recommending revisions and/or new services.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business Administration or closely related field and five years experience in local government administration at a Director level or above; or any equivalent combination of related training and experience.

An incumbent in this job classification will be required to file a financial disclosure statement (Form 1) with the Supervisor of Elections in Escambia County, in compliance with Florida States, Chapter 112, Part III. Such filing is required within 30 days of placement in the position, and annually thereafter no later than July 1 of each year in which they serve in the covered position, and within 60 days of leaving the covered position.

REQUIREMENTS UPON EMPLOYMENT:
Successful completion of criminal history background investigation is required prior to employment.
