Description: Min Qualifications Doctor of Medicine Degree as a medical or osteopathic doctor. Current, unrestricted license in State of Texas. Current unrestricted DEA Controlled Substance Registration certificate. Completion of medical specialty residency in primary care (family practice, OB/GYN, internal medicine or psychiatry). Six years full time, wage earning experience in providing direct patient care, clinical management or health services administration in a health care organization such as a federal or state agency, institution, hospital, academic health science center, or managed care organization. At least 2 years of which must have involved managerial duties incorporating responsibility for administration and fiscal oversight. Five years full time, wage earning experience in the supervision of employees. Correctional health care experience Preferred. Salary Range Negotiable annual salary not to exceed $257,881+benefits, commensurate with medical education and experience Specific Job Related Duties Provides contract monitoring services for offender patients in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice )TDCJ) to include medical, nursing, dental and mental health services. Work involves monitoring medical activities and trends and making recommendations for improvement; and planning, assigning and supervising the work of others. Works under general direction of the Health Services Division Director with extensive latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgement. Essential Functions: Provides coordination of contract and quality monitoring of the Correctional Managed Health Care (CMHC) delivery system to include medical, nursing, dental and mental health services and assists in the development, implementation and evaluation of policies, procedures and standards related to program health services. Conducts and reviews the results of special audits and internal audits to provide direction and guidance and ensure compliance with standards of the American Correctional Association, Executive Directives, Administrative Directives, CMHC policies, court orders, and other applicable rules, regulations and statutes. Serves as a representative to various health care committees within the Health Services Division and CMHC program, including pharmacy and therapeutics, policy and procedure, and mortality and morbidity; and represents the agency at business meetings, hearings, trials, legislative sessions, conferences, seminars, and boards, panels and committees. Develops plans for unit facility space, supplies, equipment and staff required for health services programs. Plans, assigns and supervises the work of others.
