Larimer County moved forward with all of these recommendations, leading to huge cost savings to Larimer County. Through these programs, we have been able to achieve an average daily population within Larimer County Jail of 534 individuals (compared to the projected number of 729). The difference of 195 offenders, not only results in annual savings of millions, it also improves outcomes for offenders in our programs. Because Larimer County places such a value in these programs, we are currently seeking funding for the next phase of expansion for both the Alternative Sentencing and Community Corrections programs - with the intention that these projects will begin in the first quarter of 2020.
