| Sexual Predator Escapes From N.C. Jail |

Officials said Jeffrey Wisher escaped from the Wilkesboro Jail Sunday afternoon. Wisher was convicted last week on four counts of taking indecent liberties with a minor, according to officials. Wilkes County Sheriff Dane Mastin said other prisoners distracted officers to help Wisher escape. 'We found the corner of the fence pulled back where he had scaled up the side of the wall and over the wire. He used the surveillance camera as a step and stepped over it and then jumped off the roof of the building,' said Mastin. Officials said Wisher was wearing orange jail pants, a tee shirt and flip flops. He has red hair. Authorities said he is considered dangerous. |
