A 30-year-old inmate was stabbed inside the MacDougall-Walker Correctional Institution last week. Kyle English, of New Haven, who was once profiled on 'America's Most Wanted' for the murder of a college student, was treated at the University of Connecticut Medical Center for non life-threatening wounds, said Karen Oien, a Correction Department spokeswoman. English was stabbed by another inmate inside a housing unit at the prison, Oien said. The prison was placed on emergency lockdown status as a result of the incident. The other inmate, whom officials would not identify, approached English and stabbed him in the chest, throat and head. Oien said officials have not determined the motive or weapon used in the attack, and that the matter is still under investigation. |
