N.H. Prison Fugitive Arrested

A Nashua man convicted of leading a drug trafficking ring is back in New Hampshire State Prison after a brief escape. Prison officials said he escaped because of a database error.
Angel Roldan left the minimum security unit at the Concord prison Sunday and jumped into a car driven by a woman who had been visiting another prisoner. They were stopped 10 minutes later on Interstate 93.
Corrections officials said earlier that Roldan was being held in the minimum security unit because he was due to be paroled next month on a conviction of conduct after an accident.
Later Monday afternoon, corrections spokesman Jeff Lyons said an internal investigation showed the department failed to incorporate into its database that Roldan was convicted in June on drug trafficking charges. He faces 25 years to life but hasn't been sentenced yet.
Lyons said the department is reviewing procedures for placing inmates into minimum security and is checking the housing status of all inmates.
