Davidson County Sheriff Daron Hall's department will be sending out Christmas cards designed by a jail inmate. Hall says a look at some of the jailhouse tattoos tells him there was a lot of creativity 'in house.' About 100 inmates who take part in a rehabilitation program were encouraged to submit sketches. Thirty-three of them did. The Nashville arts commission narrowed the field to three finalists and department employees chose the winner. The card will show a man pulling a freshly cut Christmas tree through the snow. The winner is identified as T. Sloan, who was released from jail October 10th. The sheriff says Sloan was invited to a pizza lunch for inmates who submitted ideas. The card will be sent to more than 5,000 people and institutions on the department mailing list. |
