| Female Prison Officer Admits To Sex With Inmates |

A former officer at Stateville Correctional Center in Illinois has pleaded guilty to engaging in sex with inmates and smuggling marijuana into the prison. Tanya Flowers entered the guilty plea in federal court Thursday. Prosecutors said Flowers, 32, is cooperating with a government investigation. In return, prosecutors said they would recommend a three-year, eight-month prison sentence. That's less than half what she could have received. Flowers is the second former Stateville officer to plead guilty this week. On U.S. District Judge Amy St. Eve set a Dec. 5 sentencing date. Tuesday, Robert Goodner pleaded guilty to smuggling drugs to prisoners and lying on his job application about his own gang affiliation. |
