A Connecticut inmate serving time at the Osborne Correctional Center for trying to kill his former wife was arrested again April 15, accused of twice trying to hire hit men from behind bars. Ralph Malito Jr, 50, now faces three more attempted murder charges, state police said. Authorities received a tip in July 2001 that Malito had tried to hire another inmate to kill his former spouse, said Sgt. J. Paul Vance. 'He was already serving time for attempted murder involving similar incidents in 1995 and 1996,' Vance said. When Malito learned of the new investigation, he tried to hire another person to kill both his ex-wife and the detective who was investigating the murder-for-hire allegation, Vance said. Malito was arraigned on the new attempted murder charges in Rockville Superior Court, and returned to prison. |
