A former inmate at a prison in Siberia returned to his one-time place of confinement and killed three officials in the prison administration, the ITAR-Tass news agency reported. The killings occurred January 23 in the village of Kharyuzovka, in the Krasnoyarsk region, about 3,400 kilometers (2,100 miles) east of Moscow. The 53-year-old ex-inmate entered the prison, shot and killed three officers with a sawed-off shotgun, and wounded another who tried to detain him. He then went to a neighboring village and killed a 55-year-old woman before being shot and killed by police, ITAR-Tass said. |
