A 911 call led Cameron County (Texas) sheriff's deputies to the last of three jail inmates who escaped from the Carrizales-Rucker detention center late Sunday night. The third suspect, 40-year old Ernesto Prado-Martinez of Veracruz, Mexico, was arrested late Monday night in Olmito Someone spotted him trying to drink water from a nearby faucet and called 911. A deputy sheriff who was near the area was able to capture Prado-Martinez until backup arrived. The three managed to escape from the Olmito facility late Sunday night by crawling through an air-conditioning vent. That gave them access to the roof top. From there they jumped off the roof and ran away. Two of the men were arrested an hour later in Olmito. Prado-Martinez was arrested last April on charges of possession with intent to distribute marijuana. The other suspects back under arrest are 20-year old Juan Ignacio Santillan-Lara and 31-year old Rafael Carrillo-Perez who were both initially arrested on charges of illegal re-entry. All three men are federal inmates. There is no word yet on what new charges the men will face or when they will be arraigned. |
