Two Alachua County, Fla., jail workers were fired and four others were reprimanded after an investigation into the rape of a college student serving a weekend sentence on marijuana charges, according to a report released Saturday.

The 19-year-old student was raped June 7 by his cellmate, who was being held on sexual battery charges, officials said. His cellmate held a ballpoint pen to the teenager's neck and forced himself on him, said Alachua County Sheriff's Sgt. Jim Troiano.

The cellmate, Randolph Jackson, 35, also raped or attempted to rape three inmates between March and June, the investigation found. Detectives have asked prosecutors to formally charge Jackson with two counts of sexual battery and one count of attempted sexual battery.

Detention officers Rickey Davis and Tracy Dunnam were fired Friday, The Gainesville Sun reported. They repeatedly gave the cellmate privileges that should not have been allowed to someone with his criminal history, the investigation report found. The officers can appeal their termination.

Also reprimanded were detention officers Ray Swallows, Shaheed Bakr, and Kenard Henderson, who were suspended without pay. Classification caseworker Nathaniel Olliff received a written reprimand.

The victims range in age from 18 to 26, Troiano said. All but one has been released from jail. Their identities were not released.
