A decorated Gulf War veteran on death row is asking President Bush to spare his life.
Louis Jones' clemency plea comes as the president mulls sending thousands of Americans into another war against Iraq.
Jones has exhausted his appeals and is scheduled to die by lethal injection March 18th in Indiana.
He admits to kidnapping, raping and killing fellow soldier Tracie McBride in 1995.
Defense experts say Jones was abused as a child and suffers from post-traumatic stress from his combat tours in Grenada and the Gulf. An expert on Gulf War Syndrome says Jones suffered from exposure to sarin nerve gas and other toxins.
Jones has written personally to the president, admitting his crime and expressing remorse. He wants Bush to commute his death sentence to life without parole.
Members of the victim's family have written to the Justice Department, pleading that the execution take place as scheduled.

Do you know someone who has been arrested in Waco or McLennan County? It’s important to find a good Waco lawyer to represent you in the matter involving your own liberty. Look for the best Waco family law lawyer that you can find. Whether you have been accused rightly or wrongly, it’s important to know your legal rights that concern whether you go to jail.
